We have adjusted the thickness of TiO_2 film that coated on the Au thin film surface to shift the guided light SPR absorption from the ordinary wavelength range of 600-700 nm to the range of 1300-1500 nm,in which it is conventionally used for optical fiber communication.
From our observations , the structure of SPR optical fiber sensors, specifically with the multi-layerTiO_2/Au films, can improve the sensitivity of SPR sensing in the alteration of wavelength range or intensity measurements. Besides shifting the SPR absorption wavelength range that can be integrated with optical fiber communication systems.The experiment utilized laser diodes as the light sources with two emitting wavelength 1310/1550 nm applied for SPR analysis,excellent results were found in the concentration analysis to the alcohol sodium benzoate (C_6 H_5 CO_2 Na)solutions.
