However, the automatic focusing adjustment equipment are very expensive, it is generally not suitable to use them in preproduction or test production phase. The manual focus adjustment facilities are still needed in this kind of situation. Manual adjustment requires experienced workers to precisely adjust the focus to the most appropriate focal length. In this research, image processing techniques are exploded to help the works to accelerate the manual focusing adjustment process.
In this research, we study how to use a simple and fast way to help manual focus adjustment. We use the basic image gradient operation to provide a guide for the workers so they can adjust the focus more quickly and precisely. We also use nine corner gradients to check for the tilt of the lenses. Experimental results show that this system can provide a supporting mechanism to the workers such that they can adjust the focus much fast and accurate.
