The development of information technology in medical field makes physicians depend more on the report of the physical examination in clinical diagnosis. When the more patients need examinated, the longer time they have to wait. How to maintain the quality of medical services within the limited medical personnel and equipment resources? If there is a good and appropriate queuing rules, the waiting time can be shortened.
This study uses system simulation to understand the current patients waiting and both the use and the idle of health care resources. The study which designs a new waiting rule without increasing any other resources compares with the normal queuing rules basis on the first-in, first-out standard to evaluate which waiting rule can reduce patients waiting time and improve patients satisfaction.
If a patient who requires shorter-time examination has the priority to be completed first, it can effectively reduce the total waiting time, but it easy to cause other patients dissatisfaction because of the unfair queuing. If we divide patients into two groups depending on the length of checking time, the shorter-time patients can complete the inspection quickly. But if the checking time proportion of these two groups misallocates, not only loss queuing fairness also a misallocation of resources, it makes long checking time patients wait longer, and declines the service satisfaction of patients.
The results found that dealing with the queuing problem by the shunt check mutual support used in the simulation does significantly reduce patient waiting time and reduce patient impatient degrees, but the waiting rule has its limitations. It can not apply to an extremely small examination room, and it is not easy to practice on an extremely big room because the rules are too complex.
The designs of the new waiting rules: to shunt the No. and merge the check can not only effectively reduce patient waiting time and reduce patient impatient in the simulation. And this new waiting rule has no limitation on the environmental problem, whether it is as small as only one Medical Laboratory Scientist or as big as a team with dozens of MLS can use this new waiting rules and it is very easy to shift. In the conclusion, the study also provides the advantages and disadvantages of various waiting rules and the implemented environmental conditions for the reference, we can choose the most suitable rules according to environment conditions.
