Title THE ANALYSIS OF ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY OF TISSUES OF NEOMARICA GRACILIS FROM DIFFERENT CULTURES

  • Abstract The antioxidant activities of extract of Neomarica gracilis tissues from different types of culture were studied. The highest content of total phenolics (100.51 eq. gallic acid mg/g DW) and best DPPH radical scavenging activity (94.8%) were obtained from the methanolic extract in rhizome from wild plant. The ethanolic extract in wild rhizome has the highest total flavanoids content(7.97 eq. rutin mg/g DW). In ferrous ion chelating effect, the methanolic extract of leaf tissue from flask culture was above 91.9 %. The methanolic extract of callus (10 mg/ml) has the best superoxide scavenging activity (IC50 : 213.91 μg). According to the analysis with five methods, (total phenolics, total flavanoids, DPPH scavenging activity, ion-chelating activity and superoxide scavenging activity) the fast proliferated callus possess great potential for providing mass antioxidant.
