The fluorinated mesogens exhibit lower BP formation temperature than their corresponding non-fluorinated homologues when equal chiral dopant S811 is added. Notably, the BP range can be broadened to more 20 K when fluorinated Schiff base mesogens are blended with chiral dopant ISO(6OBA)2. However, no BP could be induced in the binary mixture composed of chiral dopant ISO(6OBA)2 and Schiff base mesogen I (-C=N) with hydroxyl group.
