||The development of digital entertainment products has given the modern people many varieties of life, and the product designs are inclined to “mobility” and “personality”. Due to the advance of miniaturization technology in wearing electronic products and the combinations of costume have became a trend. However, it is crucial to develop micro design factor in 3C electronic products. By observing the exterior design of these portably digital products of modern time, the research aiming to investigate into the relationships between the portably digital products and their exterior design is to cater to human needs. Therefore, it discovers that wearing and portable electronic products are related to their design.
The research has 2 stages. Initially, the common and constantly wearing products such as flash memory drive, MP3 player, mobile phone and digital camera were chosen the first stage of experiment. Questionnaire mainly uses closed-form items for users. This result shows the components are the indirect factors affecting users to wear. Comfort and usability hinders these products from wearing. Besides, office workers and students have significant differences according to the investigation results of MP3 player.
At the second stage, MP3 players of first stage were used as experimental samples. The reason is that the components of portable MP3 player directly affect wearing method. SD method was used to test and important sequence was analyzed by using main factor, including external style: “pompous—low-tone”, human factor operation: “easy-to-handle — hard-to-operate”, and form mainly affected by “roundish — square”. It illustrates that MP3 player develops not only its own functionality but also personal style and features. The relationship between research design factors and images was analysed by Quantitative I. The result suggest that main surface area and wearing method has great impacts on most sensational words and has the variations between wearing method and special wearing method of most MP3 player users.
The chances of people’s wearing electronic products is increasing. Accordingly, the research result will benefit the development and design for industries and provide designers with product design and features as reference in the future.
