  • Abstract The study is to develop an automatic detected system for potentiometer on earphone’s PCB, promote the efficiency for testing potentiometer, and accurately search bad VRs (variable resistances).
    We design an available way to analyze bad potentiometer which has three species-no-signal, noise-signal, and broken-signal. The study develops two solutions. One is a signal analyzing device which is used to detect the circuit noise detecting noise by an automated machine, the other one is using the microcontroller to search and analyze the noise of potentiometer. Consequently, both of them are integrated into an automatic potentiometer detecting system.
    This paper accomplishes a signal analyzing device which can find bad potentiometer via an automatic system. It can search potentiometer’s eigenvalue by analyzing the circuit noise via MCU(dspic30f4011). Finally, the system can feedback the result to PC via a Bluetooth protocol.
