  • Abstract The Internet has become a part of everyday life for people to connect to the world in the current Digital Age. Nearly every household needs a modem for converting digital and analog signals in order to connect to the internet. Cable modems have the largest market share in the modem market, especially in North America and Europe where the lands are large and populated. In this article, the hardware structures of cable modems are implemented, and common wire-wound chip inductor and multilayer ceramic capacitor are used to construct a duplex filter with low cost and high performance. DOCSIS 3.0 is adopted as the basis of data transmission its channel bonding characteristics are utilized to realize a cable modem with high transmission rate.
