  • Abstract Even though the photography technology is getting more and more improved, people are still not capable of taking the exact same image in reality due to the limitations of hardware photosensitive member. Nowadays more and more people use high dynamic range imaging to retouch the images. However, nearly every powerful high dynamic range imaging has to be executed on a computer and thus it is inconvenient to utilize. Additionally, changing the colors of the original photos will enhance the contrast; as a result, users can easily notice it is an image with high dynamic range imaging. This research offers a set of counting formula for color saturation. The formula can compare several photos for the same scene with different exposure and effectively picks out the one with proper saturation and brightness according to edge intensity to produce mask for image fusion. Besides, this research also offers an edge gradient blurring technique in order to gradational blur the obviously off-color edges to compensate the residues and damages possibly happening while merging the images.
    Different from the tone mapping using synthesis of HDR image by now, this research raises the counting formula for color saturation, which can compare each pixel to generate a mask and it is in accordance with brightness and saturation. Using no toner pixels intercepted from original image makes the final image more similar to the site from naked eye. It is simple and intuitional to use brightness and saturation as the base of every pixel, saving time simultaneously. The result offered of this research was different from other's which was set its weighting between 0~1. Except from the edge need to gradational blur, the images of different exposure were given 0 or 1 for the weighting , thus the image was not suffer from ghosting artifacts by displacement.
