In a wireless mobile communication system, the complicated multi-path propagation will impact signal level, phase and angle at receiver part. This situation is multi-path fading. The COST231-Hata propagation model is always used by telecom network planner. We would like to check that complicated propagation can be described by COST231-Hata formula or not!
We measured 4 different urban sites in Tai-Chung city for this research. NetAct (Simulation tool) executed the simulation based on the COST231-Hata model. We analyze and research by comparing measured data and simulation at first 3G testing site (Site A), then try to modify model parameter to meet the measured data. We also would like to confirm the usability of this model in Tai-Chung city. Therefore, we use the same COST231-Hata model to analyze and compare with other measured data from 3 different sites. The reason is to obtain a proper COST231-Hata formula for Tai-Chung city.
Finally, we would like to verify this model that can be used in urban area in other cities. Therefore, we verify it in Mao-Li city and Chung-Hwa city. We hope this result can be a important reference for telecom network planner.
