  • Abstract This work is to investigate the impact of project-based learning (PBL) to the eighth-grade students of the junior high school. PBL is a teaching method developed in recent years. Teachers lead students to conduct groups discussion and to develop active learning and problem-solving ability.
    A quasi-experimental research method in the field of science and life technology-computer, was designed and used in four classes of eighth-grade students. The students were divided into experimental and control group. The PBL teaching method was adopted in the experimental group, while the traditional teaching method was used in the control group. The effectiveness of learned method was surveyed with questionnaires and test papers, which including learning problem solving ability test paper, natural and computer disciplinary learning attitude scale and the computer academic achievement survey.
    In conclusion, project-based learning (PBL) to the students of the junior high school can improve problem-solving ability and to enhance the learning attitude. However, it is not obvious in the aspects of learning achievement.
