In order to react to the illumination condition sharply changed. The tracker can rapidly track the maximum photovoltaic power point. Through precisely photo-electrical power conversion, so the maximum photo-electrical power output in whatever conditions of illumination can be achieved.
This tracking rule is using gradient method as a base to capture PV array’s terminal voltage and current. According to the intrinsic characteristics of the curve of PV array’s power-voltage, take the changing of slope as a dynamic variable to replaced the drawback of traditional perturb and observe method in using constant variable. So that the tracking time of MPP can be saved efficiently and the power loss causing by over long time tracking can be reduced, and then the energy conversion efficiency of photovoltaic can be improved.
Finally, a single-chip microprocessor 80196 is used in the system, and an experimental hardware scheme with software algorithm is established to prove the proposed principle in expectation to attain maximum power tracking and operating parallel control satisfaction.
