Title THE STUDY OF GREEN CONSUMPTION COGNITION, ATTITUDE, BEHAVIOR AND RELATED FACTORS OF THE JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS IN TAOYUAN CITY

  • Abstract In order to reduce the consumption of human activities to bring enviromental impact, combined with the concept of enviromental sustainability through green consumption patterns for improving the phenomenon of over-exploitation of resoures has become a global trend .In addition, green consumptuon should become good habits and concept from childhood, and adolescence is a critical period of decisions propensity to consume after adulthood. The purpose of this study is to explore the cor-relationship among Taiwan junior high school students’ green consumption cognition, attitude and behavior . The researcher compiles the questionnaire as research tool- “The Research of the cor-relationship among Green Consumption Cognition, Attitude, and Behavior ”. The subjects were sampled from one junior high school in Taoyuan City(260 effective samples ). The main results of this study were as follows:
    The subjects’ green consumption cognition was significantly differentiated by their sources of information(p<0.05). The subjects’ green consumption attitude was significantly differentiated by their gender and grade(p<0.05). As for the the green consumption behavior, it was significantly differentiated by their grade, father’s level of education, sources of information and participation environmental protection activities in the search(p<0.05).
    The junior high school students’ “cognition and attitude” and “attitude and behavior” of green consumption showed significant positive correlation(p<0.05). The students’ “cognition and behavior” of green consumption doesn’t reach the standard(p>0.05).
    According to the results of this study, the level of understanding of the junior high school students’ cognition was about higher-intermediate. And their attitude toward tends to be positive. Besides, their behavior of green consumption needs to be strengthened, the school should more actively promote environmental education.
