Title A Study on Computer Assisted Instruction for the Free Body Diagram Analysis

  • Abstract This research analyzes two units of free body diagram. Make a data bank for support reacting forces and auxiliary equations. Use equilibrant or motion equations and auxiliary equations to solve any kinds of questions. According to the theory of C.A.I., the program applies multiple processes for learning, accessible interface to students for different feedback of learning, and provides electric books and distant educations. We hope it would be useful for teaching and research.
    The structure of the software program is as follows:
    1. Electron Book
    (1) Teaching material: It displays the point of the sorting.
    (2) Memorandum: Note down the solution approach about the questions for user’s reference.
    2. C.A.I.
    According to different feedback of the teaching, it under three parts be divided into (1) Basic academic theories; (2) Examples description; (3) Formula proofs; (4) Teaching chapter; (5) Test chapter; (6) Simulation chapter. Its content is arranged according to vertical thinking to write solving steps and according to lateral thinking to display the solving methods and points. Let the student understand free body diagram by a lot of practice.
    3. Network
    It is a website of the laboratory. The websit that user can ask question here, and it announces the latest news of the laboratory.
    This research has integrated the teaching material of the free body diagram to help the students know how to draw the free body diagram and solve the equation. It must be helpful for students to learn, to advance to a higher school.
