With the excellent physical properties of carbon nano-tubes, such as high current density and low turn-on electric field, it can be used to be the electron emitter of the flat light source. Diode structure has been carried out by thick-film printing technology to systematically study the performance. Different sawtooth patterns are used to analyze the electrons emitted by the cathode pattern edges and the current densities are compared with that of strip cathode structure.
To reduce surface charge and improved the life time of such a field emitting light unit, In2O3 thin film and aluminium pattern have been coating on the phosphor anode layer by simple and reliable methods to carry out the experimental.
The result shows current density and brightness of sawtooth cnt cathode structure we prepared are better than simple strip cathode structure, and the longer sawtooth period with increasing edge length exhibits the better result. Luminescent enhancement and decaying time improvement of the phosphor anode layer have been demonstrated and discussed in this thesis.
