  • Abstract The principal investigation in this study is flow field design in Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell which belongs to a new and developing energy technology recently . The CFD package software – FLOTHERM , was used for simulation and analysis the flow field uniformity to devise the more uniform flow field of fuel cell by finite volume method .
    In this study , the dimension of flow field is 205mm×205mm×3mm , the activating area of membrane-electrode assembly is 140mm×140mm , the flow field plate type was Conventional Flow Field . The electrochemical reaction、the heat transfer and the influence of porosity in gas diffusion layer is neglected , Specific simulation on the gas flow rate uniformity in each channel of single cell flow field is taken to devise the well gas distribution characteristic of fuel cell flow field .
    To manufacture、fabricate and test the designed fuel cell flow field plate is carried in order to understand that the actual operation efficiency of fuel cell .
