Title The Effects of Processing Parameters on TiO2-V2O5 Thin Films and Powders

  • Abstract TiO2 powders and thin films were obtained by adding various amounts of vanadium pentoxide gels (which were formed through the reaction of V2O5 powder with H2O2(aq)) and TIP (Titanium isopropoxide) into IPA (i-propanol). Employment of XRD (X-ray diffractometry), DTA (differential thermal analysis) and TGA (thermal gravimetric analysis) revealed that the addition of V2O5 promotes grain growth of anatase phase and suppress the formation of rutile phase. Crystalline V2O5 phase were found to segregate at the outermost surface for both powder and film samples by using XRD, Raman (Raman spectroscopy) and GDOS (glow discharge optical spectrometry). Significant shift of the absorption edge from 390 nm to 500 nm was observed on the composite powders (1: 0.04 & 1: 0.2) and composite film (1: 0.04) analyzed by UV-Vis (UV-Visible spectroscopy).
