Title Investigation of Biofuel Synthesis Using Biomass As Raw Materials

  • Abstract Human long-term dependence on oil, thus creating a shortage of oil, we develop a new process from agricultural waste cellulose into alcohols, ethers of polyols, can be obtained with the existing commercial fuelmiscible additives.
       The experiment is divided into the first part and second part of the first part focuses on how to cellulose use of redox and hydrolysis reaction of the polyols, the experimental principle from the Smith degradation. And product by HPLC analysis with a calibration curve to calculate the product of the amount. There is discussion of the reaction variables, the reaction temperature is 25 degrees, 45 degrees, 65 degrees, the reaction time was 1hr, 2hr, 4hr and change its oxidant to explore the impact of the original experiment.
       The second part of the experiment, methylation experiments by using erythritol, and sorbitol, the reaction material with sodium hydroxide and dimethyl sulfate reaction, and discuss its response variables. Response variable because the reaction time, temperature and H2O/NaOH molar ratio (mol / mol), to identify the optimum reaction
    time.
