||A computer - Aided Engineering (CAE) software, a vital analysis tool, is often adopted in the product design for the engineers. The engineer can obtain related design information in the stress, the strain, the displacement, the fatigue, and the lifetime via the CAE simulation. In order to improve the product reliability, to analyze the product structure using the CAE is compulsory.
The purpose of this research was to implement the analysis on the laptop’s hinge. A 3-D model of the laptop’s hinge was first established by the Pro/Engineer software and then transferred into the ANSYS/Workbench software. Moreover, all the boundary condition, connection, material, and the mesh property were setup. Subsequently, the calculation of the kinetic behavior in the hinge structure and the maximum stress and the stress allocation were performed. In order to verify the correctness of the parameters setting on the ANSYS/Workbench software, the real product’s breaking test will be conducted and comparison between the experimental data and the theoretical data of the ANSYS were also carried out.
In the thesis, the deviation between the analyzed data and the real testing data is within 5%. Therefore, the analysis methods established above can be used in the structural strength of the hinge stopper the design time, and promote competitiveness. Consequently, this research can be served at the reference in the structure analysis for the company's internal training course.
