The energy efficiency becomes more and more important. For this reason, this paper provides a design which is called resource allocation of virtualized web servers in a physical machine. It merges multiple web sites on multiple physical servers into a virtualize server to reduce the amount of power-on servers and increase the resource usage of every power-on servers, and saves energy without wasting resources. This paper uses VMware ESXi to virtualize the server, CentOS for the OS, Apache for the web server software, and Apache JMeter to simulate the traffic flow of the website of 1998 world cup to test the system. It proves that this design could increase the resource usage and reduce the amount of power-on servers. In addition, this paper also provides a formula of response time on ours system.
