Keyword Bladed Small Wind Turbine Horizontal Horizontal Small Wind Turbine Bladed Abstract Along with the Cold War broke out in 1973, until today human has started to pay much more attention on the problem of the sources of energy, and sets about looking for all kinds of alternative energy resources. And wind power is the key field in alternative energy resources study. Yet windmill capabilities often deeply influence the efficiency to intercept the energy of wind, and in addition to environment factors, windmill capabilities depend mainly on the blades, the airfoil and the angles of blades. From small-scale windmill designing and improving, blades manufacturing and packaging, to equipment founding and measuring, the process of this research has been lasting for two years.
The targets of this research are: designing and producing an educational small-scale rectangular horizontal bladed wind turbine; developing small-scale horizontal windmill system; trying to apply three kinds of straight rectangular airfoils, Clark-Y､Naca0012 and L3012, to windmills; experimenting and recording how can the number of blades, ranging from two to five blades, when matching up with the gradient of -5°､-10°､-15° affects the capabilities of windmill.
