  • Abstract This thesis presents a DC-DC buck convert with triangular-wave compensation for preventing sub-harmonic oscillation. Under the same circuit conditions, the converter using triangular-wave compensation has better stability and dynamic response than that using sawtooth-wave compensation. This design also adds a soft-start circuit to prevent large starting current burning the circuit components.
    This convert is designed with TSMC 0.35 2P4M process. The chip size is 3.23 . It can operate from 500 kHz to 2 MHz with supply voltage from 3V to 5 V. The output ripple voltage is about 3 mV with a 10 off-chip capacitor and 4.7 off-chip inductor. The maximum power efficiency is 96% for load current from 50mA to 0.6A.
