The dielectric constant is very important in antenna, high-speed digital design, connecter design and everything about communication.
In this thesis, we are concerned with techniques for measuring the dielectric constant. It uses vector network analyzer in measuring.
There are two techniques in measuring in this thesis. The objects we measure are bio-materials. One of the two techniques is Cavity Method; we use it to measure the soft bio-material. The other techniques are NRW method; we use it to measure the hard bio-material. Moreover it is different from the traditional Nicolson-Ross-Weir method; we change the formula to suit in Micro strip line. It is more convenient than traditional NRW method.
By using two mentioned ways, we finish four different bio-material measurements. This is fat, muscle, bone and teeth.
