  • Abstract Tissue engineering itself a subject for tissue repair. New materials and new scaffold fabrication which facilitates cell grows and function normally were main concerns. A novel biopolymer derived from bacteria fermentation—PHBV has already utilized in tissue engineering especially as a porous scaffold for cell growth. In the research, we can fist recover a highly purified PHBV polymer by treating bacteria cell mass with acetone or sodium hypochlorite treatment and follows ethanol precipitation process,. We also discover PHBV polymer derived from different sampling time of identical fermentation possess similar molecular property (polydispersity index raging from 1.69 to 1.85) , chemical structure (FT-IR, NMR) and thermal characteristic (DSC); Moreover can be further cast into sponge-like porous scaffolds by solvent addition technique of addition acetic acid into chloroform. Furthermore, by salt- leaching technique with applying different salt particle size and salt amount, we can fabricate various porous PHBV scaffolds. According to the ANOVA result, void fraction of porous scaffold can be affected by the addition salt size and salt amount, which goes up with the raising of addition salt size or salt amount, while scaffold density reveals only to affected by the addition salt size rather than salt amount.
