Using the board and the reading of books are not the only ways for children in the future to learn. An important goal of education in the future is how to learn effectively and diversely through digital tools.
The primary design of this study focuses on the children operating interfaces and digital learning tools. The study realizes the problems, needs, and behaviors of using digital products for current children through reference investigation and survey analysis. The research also investigates children’s acceptance of using digital products, and the children’s expectation of digital learning tools’ development in the future. The first part to the research are these two survey investigations:「e-learning」 and 「children operating interface and design of digital learning tools」. The design principles of digital learning system include menu of structure, layout design of monitor interface, and industrial design. This study will recommend the best way to design digital learning tools according to the arranged results and the data of the first part’s research results. The second part focuses on the compilation of design principles and proposes three interface design projects of digital learning system and five design projects of creative product to three groups of people, and then confirms results by an evaluation of a survey investigation.
The scope of survey investigation includes preference of stimulating operating interface and creative product design, independent sample T-test and one-way ANOVA are the way to be discussed about the preference to design project of objects such as students、teachers、and parents.
The research result from the interface design project evaluation shows that the preferences of the three groups are all above 4 points. From this statistic, the study proposes a digital communication book of operating design which conforms to objects. The design points that should be included are: 1. The operating interface is easy to understand, has a simple structure, and has great interaction to the three groups. 2. 5 designs in the study can conform to the objects based on the evaluation where the designs are above 4 points. 3. Primary factors to the objects include designs like product operating, comfort ability and human personal preferences. The suggestions of interface operating and digital learning tools from the result of the study can be the design reference of digital learning products.
