  • Abstract Each time from the first iPhone launched in 2007 to iPhone 4S in 2011 , when Apple Inc. published a new iPhone always shocked the smart phone market . Apple Inc. announced to release the “ iPhone 5 “ in October 2012 , that has resulted in a lot of websites and Apple fans expressed their concept designs on the network . This study aimed to offer innovative ideas to design the new iPhone that meet the demands of iPhone fans .
       The methods of study include aggregating the innovative design concepts of new iPhone that offered by designers on the network , following the trend of iPhone’s evolution , referring to the Apple iPhone’s patent technical documents , and then by the use of questionnaire and statistic analytical method to reveal the real demands of iPhone fans so as to make the design direction . From the study , 4 concept iPhones were designed and be assessed by the male and female interviewees .
       The study results revealed that male liked the first concept iPhone , it had a 12 million high-pixel camera , supporting NFC , a 4.6 inch screen , no main menu key and a multifunctional slots( transmission , headphone jack , charging).The female preferred the second concept iPhone , because this iPhone had metal colored casing , and also had a fingerprint scan function which could protect privacy . In addition , male and female all gave the second grade score for the fourth concept iPhone , for it breaking the founder appearance of the past iPhones , having a curved glass , built-in micro projector and wireless charging .
