  • Abstract A planar coupled-fed monopole antenna is presented. It can obtain single wide bandwidth covering 690 MHz to 2710 MHz . The antenna is composed of an inverted L-type antenna on the front-side of the FR4 substrate and a meander-line with a series inductor element on the back-side. Its dimension is 45 × 22.5 mm2, thickness is 0.8mm. The meander-line with a series 10 nH inductor element is to provide a low frequency resonance, while the inverted-L type monopole is responsible for the high frequency band resonance. This antenna design is simulated by using HFSS software; the trends and results are close between simulated and the measured data.
