  • Abstract Due to Vehicle Ad hoc network topology changes frequently. The routing path to survival time is short. Network segmentation phenomenon exists some node in some moments does not exist a route to the destination node. These characteristics make the topology-based routing protocol, the need to protect routing tables, and Vehicle Ad Hoc Network features will make frequent refresh of the routing table, causing a larger network overhead. For position information routing protocols, without prior establishment of a complete path, do not need to spend resources to maintain routing. But the shortcoming of such methods, due to node mobility leading to the impact of the location information routing is not accurate. Therefore, this paper will research the improved algorithm based on the position information on Vehicle Ad hoc network routing. This article considers the vehicle network changes frequently topology, intermittent network connectivity, and network communication links are unreliable factors. This algorithm can identify intersection nodes in the topology quickly changing and network segmentation of conditions to overcome the vehicle move quickly due to data transmission failure, and reduce the delay time. In the best case, this algorithm reduces 7% of delay time when compared with GPSR.
