  • Abstract In recent years, the VANET (Vehicular Ad-hoc Network) networking approach has been important and extensively discussed for many applications. In this paper, a file searching mechanism of VANET is presented. This paper contains two major issues: the overlay network and the packets situation. The presented mechanism focuses on file search in the overlay network. This paper employs the Chord [1] protocol and then uses Agent and clustering techniques to reduce query messages and more efficiently provide searching files on a Chord ring. In packets situation issue, this paper present discussions about the AODV (Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance-Vector) problem when relay vehicles move to junction and turn. The situation causes downloading path breaking and packets of buffer in the relay vehicles will be drop, too. We according to this problem solve it. In experiments, NS2 is used to simulate the vehicle drives to the junction when the vehicle downloads the file. The simulation results show our method is better than original AODV.
