  • Abstract In this flourishing-technology-and-information times, bridge cameras boomed since 2008. Issues around bridge cameras are everywhere. Each famous brand published new products to the market as well within recent years. This comparatively promotes the functions and performance of point-and-shoot camera. Bridge camera is classified between SLR camera (Single Lens Reflex Camera) and point-and-shoot digital camera, providing another option to the mid-purchasing group to meet their needs. In the early research, we did survey on 178 subjects and mainly focused on investigating on 5 factors which are “Purchasing and using situation”, “ Preference of the interface of the functional panel”, “Distress level on bottoms using”, “Bottom using situation”, and “Bottoms position”.
    Chi-square test found out that the main purpose for using bridge cameras is “travel” for the majority. From the repeated measures and LSD test, the function part that needs to be improved the most is “GPS/ Electric compass – it can display the location information”, and the most troublesome for the bottom is “the bottom material is inappropriate.”
    In the late research, we applied questionnaire to 89 subjects. We classified all tested subjects into 2 groups. One group is using often bridge camera user and professional photographers. Bridge camera user includes 74 persons ,whose age is between 21-30 years old, and photographer is with 15 people and age is between 41-50. We discussed the best bottoms shape and the most suitable position. There are 4 projects proceeding 3 Likert preference ratings simultaneously. Name of scheme A design is parallel type, program B design is a typical type C design is a vertical linear program, program D design is a ring-type .The result indicates most subject preferred project A design. The bottom layout is more easily to understand and operate. We found out the best bottom layout design among the projects for the bridge camera. This outcome could also provide the manufacturers or the camera suppliers as a great reference when designing.
