The experiments are divided into two parts. First part is to put the liquid solution into the microwave oven and observe the temperature change as the concentration of the solution is changed. The second part is to put the liquid solution outside the microwave oven and observe the shield effect for electromagnetic waves.
Besides using the liquid solution, the shield effect is also studied using some materials easily found in our daily lives, such as plywood, acrylic, and foam. The shield effect using the liquid solution can then be compared with the shield effect using these materials. Optionally, we found the best shield effect can be achieved by soaking the plywood in the salt solution.
