  • Abstract Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) is a versatile material and has been applied to many fields like display technologies, touch screen and solar cell. Many alternative materials are aimed to replace ITO due to the short supply of indium. Among them, silver nanowire is a promising candidate that has drawn a lot of interests. In this these, we use the polyol process to fabricate different size Ag nanowires. Dielectrophoresis process was used to purify these nanowires and the effect of frequency on the associated morphologies, electric properties and optical properties were investigated. Meanwhile, a bending mechanism was design to test the morphologies, electric properties and optical properties of Ag nanowires on PET. The results indicate that the electrical property of DEP purified Ag nanowires is better than that of ITO and the transmittance of DEP purified Ag nanowires is inferior to ITO. The electrical and optical properties of Ag nanowires are similar to that of ten thousand times bending counterparts. In summary, DEP purified Ag nanowires has the potential to be the alternative materials for ITO.
