Abstract After economic crisis, governments have expanded investments in infrastructure to boost economic growth, demand increased on retail products after economic regain its momentum, increasing demand of gaming industry products, the rise of Industrial 4.0, IoT and besides, Taiwan has an ideal background and experience of computer manufacturing, as the result of above mentioned support, Taiwanese industrial personal computer industry has drawn much more attention than before.
This study uses Data Envelopment Analysis to analyse operation efficiency of 18 Taiwanese industrial computer manufacturers from the year 2011 to 2015. The empirical results of this study summarized the highest overall efficiency company is Ennoconn Corporation. It shows the best overall efficiency every year during the five years study. Advantech Corporation, with the highest net revenue among all, was overall inefficient in the year 2011 due to DRS, but during year 2012~2015 company has improved to overall efficiency. Astro Corporation shows the lowest overall efficiency on 3 consecutive years since 2013.The focus of improvements will be to expand operations, in order to reach the most suitable scale of production. Total Factor Productivity average value shows a slight decline among these eighteen industrial computer industries, due to low-efficiency change index, further findings show efficiency decline was caused by deviation from scale efficiency.
