All-in-One computers combine the monitor into the same case with the other components such as CPU, Mother Board, Hard-Disc Drive, Power Supplier, etc.
This research consists of three main parts, which are “Investigation of Recent AIO PC Designs,” “Investigation of AIO PC Disposings” and “Investigation of AIO Design Plans.”
In the section “Investigation of Recent AIO PC Designs,” we collect the data of various AIO PC products that are already announced, and interview some AIO PC designers to find out the design problems they are facing. Then, sort those “problem points” by their functionalities so that we can categorize them into power button, I/O ports, optical disk drive, speaker, handle, etc. for analysis.
A survey questrionnaire has been established in the second part of the research – “Investigation of AIO PC Disposings.” All of the items are acquired by the result of prior step. The subjects express their needs or preferences on AIO PC designs by filling the questionnaire sheet on the internet. We analyze the data by test tools of SPSS, such as One Way ANOVA, One-Sample t Test, Chi-Square Test and Cochran Q Test. The result shows us the difference of preferences between designers and others.
In third step, “Investigation of AIO PC Design Plans,” we build twelve AIO 3D CG models for verification.
Finally, we can conclude that an AIO PC design which contains seven features listed below are acceptable to most of the subjects: (1) monitor type; (2) cable management; (3) adjustable webcam; (4) power button placed at lower-right corner of the front; (5) speakers placed on right and left next to, or below the panel; (6) ODD placed on right-upper side; (7) IO-ports placed on lower end of right side or left side.
