Monitors like cell phone, computer and TV have become the main digital output devices. The technology of monitor progress from time to time. 2016, the first year of VR era, many company not only improve the color accuracy and resolution, but also promote 3D demonstration and Virtual Reality to provide audience a new option, such as VR movie and VR animation. VR provide a 3D space so audience enjoy it more. The development of software and hardware of VR becomes mature. If we apply VR to education, it will provide a new way and make education more complete.
The application of CAD(Computer Aided Design) is very common.3D modeling is required for student of Industrial design. Thus the way to learn 3D modelingand improve the understanding of 3D concept is very essential in industrial design education. The goal of this research is whether VR is helpful for the learning of 3D concept for industrial design student.Subjects of this research includes 15 non-design college students, 15 industrial design freshmen, 15 industrial design juniors, total 45 subjects. We will show 3D models through M3D, S3D and HMD and test their recognition of the size of 3D product pictures.
The result found that using 3D aided tool can improve the ability of 3D learning and even be competitive with people who has better understanding of 3D concert.
