  • Abstract In view of the vigorous development of BIM technology in the global construction industry, some domestic Architects firms and large construction contractor already started to apply BIM technology for construction project’s integration and management. From result perspective, utilizing BIM technology in construction project does improve the effectiveness of project management comparing to the traditional construction management methodology
       However, it is still uncommon to introduce BIM technology as the management model in the interior decoration project in Taiwan. Many interior decoration companies are hesitated and worried they can’t get equivalent return on investment because of BIM’s higher equipment setup fee and long personnel training time.
       There are not too many application of BIM technology on the practical interior decoration project or academic research. Seems most of the interior decoration companies limits BIM application on presentation of visualized simulation, therefore the primary objective of this research is to investigate whether the application of BIM technology in interior decoration project can improve its management effectiveness comparing with the traditional project management model in the three main stages of “planning and design”, “construction management” and “maintenance management” and to provide interior decoration project management personnel recommendations through expert interview and case study on project effectiveness comparison analysis.
