  • Abstract Leveraging existing Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and Internet technologies, the EPCglobal NetworkTM will convey real time data about individual items as they move through the supply chain. With the EPCglobal NetworkTM, there is a medium within which information can be collected, utilized, and communicated across supply chains, across industry and around the world.
    EPCglobal NetworkTM contains several components, and EPC IS (EPC Information Services) system is one of these. EPC IS system is like Web Server in the network which can supply information for authorized parties’ requests. Enterprises can use ONS (Object Name Service) to search for the EPC IS to fit in with the items they have got.
    Reverse logistics is needed for recycling, repair, or returning to vendor. The repair and RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) in reverse logistics sometimes need the information from the forward logistics in the supply chain and the characters of RFID and EPCglobal NetworkTM are able to support more information of product from raw material to after-sale customer care. The information collected through RFID and EPCglobal NetworkTM can help the repair and return product process more smooth going. This paper investigates the possible use cases of EPC IS in LCD TV supply chain.
