  • Abstract Simplication of Design is very common part or goal for Industrial Designer. Its main point is emptying or reduceing the complicated part of products for make sure products will be easier to use andto understand. The goal of this research is combining the 12 rules of Simplified Design in Product Design and TRIZ 39 Engineering Parameters to create a new way of innovation. The result generated “thecomparison table betweenthe 12 rules of Simplified Design in Product Design and TRIZ 39 Engineering Parameters”.By using TRIZ innovation principles inSimplifieddesign, for designers, it can inspiremore association so that designerswill be more systematic when they are developing new concepts.This thesis involve3 mainly stages:
    (1)How to use TRIZ theory in Simplified Design
    Figure out the relationship between the rule of Simplify Design and TRIZ Engineering Parameters by interviewing experts with Delphi Method. And generalize the result to create “the comparison table betweenthe 12 rules of Simplify Design in Product Design and TRIZ 39 Engineering Parameters”
    (2)Case Study
    Compare the differents of Simplication between 2 existing products to ensure the feasibility of the comparison table.
    (3)Re-design Products
    Re-design existing complex products with the comparison table,and verify the concepts which have been redesigned.
    The progress of applying TRIZ in Simplified Design that is created by this research: First, find which Simplified rules isn`tsatisfied in the case, then putting these rules into “the comparison table between12 rules of Simplified Design and TRIZ 39 Engineering Parameters”. When it collating to TRIZ39 Engineering Parameters, researcher will check the Contradiction Matrix, and find out the Deterioration Parameters,thencollating into 40 Innovative principles and defining its Design Specification to redesign complex products.
